Baby Countdown: The Final Days

We’re close now. So close we can practically feel it. All of our preparations have been made. The baby room is complete, our call list is ready, and we’ve got our overnight bags packed. It’s a waiting game now. Cathy’s doctor says she’s close and is nearing the point where she could go anytime in the coming weeks…personally I’ve got my money placed on the last two weeks of February. Looking at her, she’s carrying large and low, thus reinforcing the doctor’s prediction. While day to day life is tough and only getting to be more of a struggle, the level of excitement and anticipation couldn’t be higher.

This weekend we’re having friends and family over for a baby shower. It’ll be an afternoon of love, laughs, and some good food. I may take a few photos, but I haven’t fully decided yet. We’re just looking forward to seeing everyone and considering it our last hoorah before the baby comes.

All in all, we’re ready and want her to get here. After the initial struggle of late nights, diapers, and temper tantrums, we can’t wait to show our little girl the world. Everything that we take for granted, she will experience for the first time. In essence, we’ll both be reliving our childhoods through her eyes. It’s an amazing thought. For now, we’ll just keep waiting. Waiting for the big day to come. Chances are, the next post you see on here will be an introduction…to our new daughter.

Derek Christie - Congratulations!! Seriously, It’s an amazing thing as you already know I’m sure. I wish you both the very best. Looking forward to the pictures.

My beautiful wife

I wanted to take some time to acknowledge a very special person in my life…my wife Cathy. Without her, I couldn’t be who I am, I couldn’t be complete. She makes everyday worthwhile and gives me the motivation I need to keep moving forward. She is my anchor and always knows exactly what to say and do if things go wrong. As if she couldn’t get any more perfect…she’s carrying our daughter. I consider myself a lucky man. Thank you baby for everything you do.

Tiann O'Connor - She’s is gorgeous and u are so sweet.

Nessa K - You are so close to meeting your little girl and judging by her mom, that’s going to be one beautiful baby. :)

2011: Looking Back

2011 has been a whirlwind. When I think about how I am now to how I was in the beginning of the year, I can see that I’ve really changed. This year has been huge for me to grow and develop myself as a wedding photographer, but I’m not done yet. Not by a long shot. For 2012, I’m getting to work with some amazing people in some amazing places. If I have things my way, it’ll be an even more substantial year than 2011…but that will come later. For the moment, I want to thank all my clients and friends who helped me over the past year and helped me become who I am today. A Humble Thank You

It’s about that time of year when all of us wedding photographers create a blog post highlighting our favorite photos of the past wedding season. I’m no exception. For the past week, I’ve been looking through an archive of photos, selecting my favorites. It wasn’t until last night that I realized something…I’ve never expressed my gratitude to my clients. Ok, maybe that sounds bad, but what I mean is…I wouldn’t be where I am without having the opportunities to work with such wonderful people.

While I still have my 2011 post coming, this post is dedicated to my clients who I had the pleasure of working with this year. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. Thank you for letting me tell your story. Thank you for believing in me. It is because of you that I love what I do and why I do it. I consider all of you not just clients, but friends as well. I loved hearing about how you met, how you guys popped the question, your inside jokes, and experiencing the love you have for one another. The stories you told me will stick with me forever and serve as a reminder of why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

This year has been a wild ride and has taken me to some beautiful places where I watched beautiful stories unfold. Next year is looking even better. So again, to my clients from this past year and the clients I will work with in the coming year, thank you. I couldn’t do it without you.

Nessa K - I’m so excited to see your best of post come together, Brian!

Peter - It is wonderful to be appreciative of amazing clients in this line of work!

Julianne Markow - Its great to say thank you to your clients, I can’t wait to see your 2011 photo post!

J Shoda - Nice bro! I still remember following your work during the TPF days, so it’s amazing to see how much you’ve grown. I can tell you’re going to have a killer 2012.
