A week and a half ago I had the amazing opportunity to pack up my gear and head out to Victor, IA to photograph Erin and Scott as they celebrated their engagement. Firstly, I love engagements. They've always been my favorite because it gives us a chance to have some fun in a variety of locations, experiment with different kinds of light, and continuously shoot without having to worry about a clock. Some of my greatest adventures with my clients happen during our engagement shoots and this one was no exception.
This engagement session was a bit out of the norm for me, but amazing none the less. Erin and Scott were so hospitable and even showed me around a little beforehand. After shooting in the attic of a rustic barn with some moody lighting, I didn't think it could get any better until we discovered a secluded trail through the woods and a beautiful field will rolling green hills. Near the end, we found an onslaught of hungry mosquitos, but I think the resulting images are worth it.
I had so much fun with these two during the engagement and I can't wait for more. Their wedding seems so far away in November, but I know it'll be here before I know it so we can make some more great memories. Until then, take a look at the awesome photos we captured and help me celebrate the engagement of this awesome couple.
