Good Morning and Happy Friday! It's time for another weekly [FRAME] and this week I'm doing things a little differently. This [FRAME] is a short little story and a series of photos that I noticed while editing an engagement shoot earlier this week. This one's all about a dog who got a little carried away. It's called the dog bite. Lets dive in. A while back I was invited down to Batavia, a small town just outside of Ottumwa, to work with Paula and Derek to capture their engagement session. They had told me that they wanted to do the session on their family's property and, let me tell ya, it was amazingly beautiful. I'm planning on sharing the session very soon – you'll see.
During the early part of the session, we decided to incorporate their beautiful dog into the photos. So, I had them take a little walk together and their dog tagged along nicely while giving the occasional jump and lick. I then had Paula and Derek kneel down for some portraits with the dog and also some candids of them giving her a little affection.
We were getting some great shots, but then Derek decided to take it up a notch and chase the dog around a bit. They ran around darting through the yard — she was loving it. Then, he quickly lunged to try and grab her and it must've startled her because by pure instinct, she panicked and playfully chomped on his arm. I didn't catch it when it happened, but when I was going through all the photos, this dog bite series was amongst them and it was just too funny not to share. My favorite is actually the second shot where you can see the complete look of terror in the dogs face. It just goes to show you that you never know what you're going to get.
On a personal note, I'm excited to say that I don't have a wedding this weekend so I can spend my time celebrating Halloween with my family and catching up on a little editing. I also want to wish everyone a fun and safe Halloween! Thanks for stopping by.
