Good Morning and Happy Friday! This week's [FRAME] is here and it's one of my favorite moments from last year that happened at Paige and Andrew's Wedding in Carroll, IA. This moment is all about an amazing speech given by two of the groomsmen who took a scientific look at the couple's relationship with some hilarious anecdotes. Lets dive in. As I said, this is one of my favorite moments last year. In all of my years of shooting weddings, I had never seen (or heard) a speech that took this much preparation and was this damn funny. Two of Andrew's groomsmen literally went online to research the couple's relationship by raiding their Facebook accounts and downloading pictures from different points in their relationship. Once armed with these photos, they compiled them into a hilariously compelling powerpoint presentation called, "The science of Andrew + Paige: A data-driven evaluation of their love." Throughout the presentation, they used various "equations" to both add relevance and also describe how these two could be attracted to each other. They even went so far as to examine their behavior, dating habits, and clothing styles before their relationship and contrasted that with how they evolved after meeting each other. Some of the photos they found were priceless and, at certain points, it was nearly impossible to hear the "speech" as the laughter was so loud that the groomsmen actually had to stop and wait for everyone to calm down before continuing.
The presentation itself was long, but highly entertaining. And, after all of the research data, hypotheses, and blackmail photos had been presented to the audience, the two groomsmen received a standing ovation as well as hugs from the bride and groom. I've seen a lot of speeches in my time and I have to say that I have never seen someone go through this much effort to get one over on the wedding couple. It was a well-prepared and outstandingly hilarious speech and will always be one of my personal favorites.
Thanks for reading and be sure to watch the blog next week as I'm planning to roll out my "Favorites of 2015 Engagements" post as well as share one of my favorite weddings of all time. Lots of great things are coming so stay tuned.
