Good morning and Happy Friday to all of you! I hope you've got your coffee because I've got another [FRAME] served up for you from my amazing wedding last weekend in Emmetsburg, IA. Lets get to it! As I said, this shot is from my wedding this past weekend with Blake and Justin in beautiful Emmetsburg, IA. We had a scenic, sunny outdoor wedding at the newly built Shores at Five Island venue. Shortly after, we enjoyed a sunset cocktail hour and reception complete with good food, drinks, and yard games like giant Jenga. However, when the lights went out, things got really interesting.
Blake and Justin had just finished their first dance and both parent dances when the party officially started. The DJ kicked on the party lights and the room filled with thumping beats as excited guests hit the dance floor to show off their best moves. I circled around grabbing candids and looking at the key players on the dance floor for some A-level dance moves. It didn't take long until I noticed Tyler.
Tyler was somewhat of a phenom on the dance floor. He attacked every song with energy and enthusiasm which only made everyone around him dance harder...I guess he was sort of a dance floor catalyst. So, when I heard the heard the song "Watch Me" by Silento I knew I was in for a treat.
Now, if you're unfamiliar with the song, it's addictive and spreads like wildfire. Here's a video, watch at your own risk: Watch Me by Silento
Anyways, the chorus of the song is "Watch me whip...watch me nae nae..." and there's a dance that goes along with it. For the sake of the story, we'll just stick with the whip part. The whip is when you hold your hand out in front of you like you're holding a steering wheel and then jerk your head to the side. So, when Tyler did the whip, he did it extremely hard — so hard that thought he was going to break his neck. However, with the right bit of timing, I managed to grab this awesome frame. Soon after, everyone else joined in and started doing the whip...it was awesome. I love this shot because when I look at it, I can still feel the fun energy that pulsated throughout the dance floor and kept the party thriving all night long.
Thanks for checking out this post. Be sure to watch the blog next week as I'll be featuring a gorgeous engagement session and maybe I'll share a wedding as well.
