Good Morning all you readers out there! Today we've got a beautiful engagement session featuring an amazing couple, Paula and Derek. So, top off your cups of coffee and buckle up, this one's one of my favorites. Paula and Derek were kind enough to invite me down to their family's property in Batavia, Iowa just outside of Ottumwa. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got out there and truth be told, there really wasn't much to expect. There were miles of endless cornfields and flat land spread far and wide, but right in the middle of it was this oasis that turned out to be their farm. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the family with warm smiles and they took the time to actually drive me all over the property looking for various locations to shoot. After hand-picking a few, we headed back up to the house, waited for Paula and Derek to change, then headed out to make some magic...and did we ever!
From one shot to the next these two were completely seamless and despite the good-natured heckling from the family, these two really got into the zone and made this engagement fantastic. We went all over the place, but my favorite location by far was the dock by the little pond just down the hill from the house. The trees were lit up like you can't believe and all of those beautiful fall colors reflected across the water like fire. The pictures hardly do it justice.
Nevertheless, this engagement session turned out amazing and I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two. So sit back and enjoy the ride, I know I did!
