This weekend I was overwhelmed with pride as we celebrated our daughter Sophie’s first birthday. I know everyone says this, but it really is true…it still seems like only yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.
In the past year we’ve been through trials, tribulations, and countless learning experiences. Through our parental trial by fire, we raised a beautiful, intelligent, and well-balanced little girl. It never ceases to amaze me at how much she’s grown and how much she’s learned; and it’s all happening even faster now. Just this past week she’s been learning to walk. All of a sudden she’ll stand, take four or five steps, then fall forward for us to catch her. We cheer and applaud which causes a large smile to spread acrosss her face and the determination to keep trying.
We celebrated her birthday with a ‘Hello Kitty’ themed party consisting of decorations, party favors, temporary tattoos, balloons, and a pair of custom ‘Hello Kitty’ cakes. All in all, it was an amazing day and we couldn’t feel more blessed to have such wonderful friends and family to help us celebrate this important milestone.
I plan on posting some more photos from the party, so stay tuned. And to my wonderful daughter Sophie, I love you and I couldn’t be more proud of you.
