Heading into 2012, I knew it was going to be a benchmark year for me. I had a good amount of weddings booked and was working with some really great couples. In addition, I had landed the opportunities to shoot at some terrific venues unlike any I’ve worked in before. I was excited. As the year progressed, I noticed that I was not only growing as a photographer, but also as a person. Then one day, I felt like something was missing. After a great deal of thought, I realized that I just wasn’t living up to my potential. I wanted to take literally everything and kick it up a notch. My style, my images, my brand. Everything needed to move forward.
Enter the idea of a rebrand.
Not just rebrand my business, but also myself. So I began working. I wanted to come up with something that was more “me.” I started falling in love with quirky and unique fonts. Much like myself, these fonts had a certain eccentricity about them that I felt resonated with me. I then selected a color palette, design elements, and watched a new brand take shape in front of my eyes. What I was looking at just seemed to fit. It was modern and edgy, but at the time different enough to set me apart from the rest. In other words, exactly what I wanted. Not only was the new brand a reflection of me, but also showcased my images really well. I was happy.
After the cosmetic overhaul, I needed to do a physical overhaul and change the way I was doing business. I began taking notes of things I sought to improve. These notes included things like packaging, client interaction, quality of products, and overall efficiency to get clients images faster. It was then that I realized that I wasn’t just selling a product or service...I was selling an experience. With my mind made up, I started planning, desigining, buying, and assembling everything to make my business more comprehensive and well-rounded.
The first thing I’m going to showcase is my new website. After many late nights designing and coding, here’s what I came up with. I’m happy with it and I hope you are too.
The rest of my rebranding project will be shown in the near future. Stay tuned for some great updates.
Until then...welcome to the new Brian Davis Photography.
