A Year in Review: 2015 Wedding Favs Part 1
I'm way overdue on this post, but better late than never I suppose. I'm really proud to share all of this wedding work because it represents an absolutely incredible year working with some of the most amazing clients I have ever come across. By the way, if you haven't seen my 2015 Engagement Session post, I highly recommend you check it out. Now, without further ado, lets dive in. I've been working on this post for a while now. It's simply too hard to sort through over 100,000 wedding images shot over the past year and widdle those down to a manageable number of favorites because I'm emotionally attached to each one. In actuality, I failed — the number of final images is still outrageous. That's why I'm breaking this post into 2 parts – part one as you see below and part two will come early next week.
This past year has been a wild ride. Not only did I find myself touring all over Iowa to some beautiful locations, but I found myself working with some of the most incredible people and I'm fortunate that we had a chance to cross paths. If you are reading this as one of my past clients, just know that I am fortunate to have worked with you and consider you a friend for trusting in me to capture your special day.
In the beginning, I considered 2015 as a year of growth. I wanted to step my game up in not only my client interaction, but my final product as well. In looking back, I'm happy to say that I not only hit the mark I was aiming for, but blew completely past it. Not only was I able to tell so many wonderful stories through my images, but I was able to do so in an honest and artful way that would stand the test of time. In other words, I not only felt myself improve as a storyteller, but as an artist as well. As an artist, we're often the most critical of ourselves as we work so closely that we often miss the big picture. However, in looking at all of these wedding images sprawled out in front of me as record of the past year, I can honestly say that I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
So, I dedicate this post (and part 2) to all my clients who trusted and believed in me to document their stories. Each and every one of you are why I enjoy my job so much and I'm forever grateful. To all you readers out there, here is just half of what I consider my best year ever. Enjoy!
