Ashley + Chad: Maquoketa Wedding
It's been a while since I've blogged a wedding and honestly I've sat on this one way too long. When Ashley contacted me and told me about their wedding, I knew it was going to be special — I just didn't know the bar would be raised to this level. I never met these two before the wedding day. I typically meet with my couples, have an engagement session, and generally get to know them so we can pick up where we left off when the wedding day starts. Going into this day, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised when I met Ashley — a laid-back, tattooed country chick. Things even got better when I met Chad — a fun, down-to-earth kind of guy. But, what really blew me away was when we finally had the first meet and I got to see the two of them together. It was obvious from the beginning that they shared a love as deep as their country roots as the first meet was filled with long embraces and tears. From that point all I could do was buckle up and hang on as they day unfolded to become an incredible adventure and a beautiful story between these two.
When the night was over and these two had their beautiful sparkler exit, I didn't want to leave. This wedding had been a dream to photograph from the intimate first meet, exploring in a cave, outdoor farm wedding, and ending in a wild barn party. It's hands down one of my favorite weddings and I couldn't be more excited to share this with all of you.
